Spicy Eggplant with Potatoes

Cardomom Laced Rice Pudding (with Basmati rice)

Cardomom Laced Rice Pudding (with Brown rice) - this is an experiment

Punjabi Curdy No I didn't say Curry. Folks this is the most amazing dish that you'll rarely (sadly) get on an Indian restaurant menu. I'm a little nervous to try this one. But I'm doing it today!

So, I was pleased that after three days of soaking my one crockpot is finally CLEAN. The one in which I burned Juhi's simple kitchari recipe (rice and lentil porridge). I probably shouldn't be telling you all of this, but I want you to know that it happens and often to the best of us. And, that when you get my book know that I've gone through a ton of experimentation to get the recipes just right. The saucy potatoes that my cousin Juhi commented on in the last post was a tough one. When I do it on the stovetop I add a stick of cinammon. But, if you do that in the crockpot it just makes the dish look dark and unappealing. So, I took that out and subbed powdered cinnamon at the end. Makes a world of difference.

If you're interested in trying any of the above recipes - now's the time to email! You can comment on this blog/at anupysingla@indianasapplepie.com/at anupy@att.blackberry.net/or you can call me on my cell. Most of Chicago knows the number anyway as I still get calls on it from PR folks for stories. Thanks to all of you and keep calling and texting. Oh, and did I mention I'm on Twitter? I'm still learning so consider those Chirps at the moment rather than Tweets.

Okay. Gotta Run. Aria is hopping around the house on her inflated bouncy ball with a hula hoop around her waist at the same time. Amazing! She definitely takes after me - multi talented. Ha.
